The Dangers of New Paltz Sidewalks started as a brochure on the safety concerns and potential solutions of the sidewalks in town. After researching the ADA requirements for accessible sidewalks and ideas to fix the sidewalks—while still providing safe options for pedestrians— the project would eventually become a book.

The book is meant to be simple in every facet—fonts, colors, and layouts—because the problem is not complicated. The sidewalks are dangerous, they must be fixed because they don't meet specific ADA requirements, and here are some visual solutions to both fix them and maintain safe areas for pedestrians and bikes. I did not want the layout to be overly complicated, because the research and information was the most important thing to relay.
