Who hasn't learned about the 1969 moon landing? Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong famously left footprints on the moon and took "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." The science and people behind the expedition, however, have gone largely unsung. To the Moon and Back takes a standard article on the man behind the moon landing, and redesigns the piece to have stronger typography and visual layouts.

My original piece had to follow two very specific rules: I could only use the Helvetica font family, and I could not include color. It focused heavily on typesetting, but was not visually interesting. To make the article more dynamic, I pulled my color palette from the original NASA logo, and took inspiration from the famous footsteps on the moon. The footprints are meant to guide the viewer's eye around the pages from top to bottom and left to right.
